‘Tis the season for giving. One Simple Wish will be collecting canned goods, boxed items, grocery store gift cards and other things to help assemble 250 Thanksgiving meal packages for children and families in need.
Those wishing to donate can drop off items at the organization’s “Wish Shop” at 183 Scotch Road, Ewing, New Jersey, according to The Times of Trenton.
Those eligible to receive the packages include families throughout the area referred through the Division of Youth and Family Services, UIH Family Partners, Greater Trenton Area YMCA, The Children’s Home Society and many others. Requests should be made through officials at those agencies.
Founder and Executive Director Danielle Gletow told The Times of Trenton:
“Thanks to wonderful supporters like BlackRock, who have committed to contributing at least 100 packages to our drive, we are going to be able to offer assistance to hundreds of families in the state this year,” Gletow said.
“In 2010, many individuals and families still strive to rebuild, and we are reminded that simple things make a difference,” said Kyla Mostello Donnelly of BlackRock. “Random acts of kindness and the smallest gifts can make the biggest impact.”
Perhaps your company has been looking for an worthwhile organization to sponsor this holiday season, or maybe your department has been looking for a cause to get behind. One Simple Wish is the perfect opportunity to make a difference close to home.
